Curator for the 14th annual Young Latino Artists exhibition (YLA 14) at Mexic-Arte Museum
The exhibition consisted of 12 artists including: Julia Barbosa Landois, Noé Cuéllar, Carlos Donjuan, Joseph Duarte, Santiago Forero, Héctor Hernández, James Huízar, Sean Adam Ibáñez, Jorge Javier López, Randy Muñiz, Gil Rocha, Abel Saucedo. TARP ≠ lona (Curatorial statement) In times of troubled assets relief programs (TARP), trillions in deficits, high stress and job loss in numbers never before seen to the present generations, we find ourselves in a position where we have the opportunity to look to art and culture particularly for comfort. Our lona, our cover or shield is in the creative process. TARP ≠ lona is a collection of artwork that allows us a momentary pause. It serves as a vehicle where the viewer may strip away complexities and obstructions where he or she may be allowed to reflect and develop new approaches to move forward, to find their lona.

Panelist for - TRANSFORMATIVE JOURNEYS: A SYMPOSIUM
In conjunction with the special exhibition “Forgotten Gateway: Coming to America Through Galveston Island,” the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum presents “Transformative Journeys: A Symposium.” This panel discussion explored how the experience of immigration and place has transformed the identities and work of four artists and one curator -- Eduardo Xavier Garcia, Terrence Moline, Tien Nguyen, Lordy Rodriguez, and Liliana Wilson. Each of these participants had work showing at a museum or cultural center in Austin. The dialogue was moderated by Dr. Suzanne Seriff, guest curator of “Forgotten Gateway.” “Transformative Journeys: A Symposium” was presented in collaboration with Austin Museum of Art, Austin History Center, the George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center, the Mexican American Cultural Center, and Mexic-Arte Museum.

Director, Sound Alternative Space for Contemporary Art, Laredo, Texas
Developed cultural programming for visual and performance art gallery. Curated shows for and with artists. Coordinated with staff the logistics for productions and day-to-day operations of gallery. Installed exhibits and design lighting according to type of show and artist instructions. Responsible for developing advertising campaigns for shows and performances. Secured funds for Non-profit gallery operations. Responsible for maintaining gallery Web site. Created content and graphics for Web site. Wrote and put out press releases for gallery events. Served as board member for Arts for Everyone, a non-profit organization which served as umbrella over AKA Collective, the programing committee for Sound. Successfully ran fine custom framing business.
