Venus transit

This week my friend Julia and I had the opportunity to experience the Venus transit from the rooftop of a 17 story building at the University of Texas. The line was long for the much anticipated event. Finally, after over an hour of standing in line, the wait was over. There were a variety of telescopes all using different filters, each one providing a slightly different perspective of the transit. The volunteers at each one of the telescopes provided a little insight about the planetary phenomenon, sun spots, sun flares, etc. The universe is truly amazing and inspiring!
